Когда происходит движения рычага выбора скорости байка, специальный привод позволяет привести в движение вилки. Они предназначены для перемещения муфт продольного включения. Одновременно две передачи включенными быть не могут, так как для этого используется замок (механизм для блокировки). Если рассматривать на примере трехходовой коробки, во время движения одного ползуна, остальные просто фиксируются замком.
В тот момент, когда муфта, отвечающая за включение, направляется к шестерне конкретной передачи, происходит встреча их зубчатых венцов. Они между собой соединяются, и происходит их единовременное вращение. Таким образом КПП передает вращательные движения от мотора посредством карданного вала главной передаче.

How Do You Set Your Key Fob’s Alarm Override PIN Code
In newer models, proximity key fobs come with additional security measures. Without the key fob, you can neither switch on your Harley-Davidson nor perform any other functions. You must set your alarm to override PIN code and remember it if something happens to the key fob.
The method to change your pin isn’t that tough. For this, you just need your key fob and the steps of the procedure. Also, check that the battery of your key fob isn’t dead. Note that if you lose your key fob without setting the pin, you won’t be able to start your Harley-Davidson.
Step 1First, select your 5 digit pin
Step 2Use your key fob to switch the ignition button on
Step 3Now, switch on your ignition and ensure the handlebar kill switch is switched off.
Step 4Switch the handlebar kill switch in the following manner:On – Off – On – Off – On
Step 5Switch the left turn signal twice
Step 6Switch the right turn signal once. The current pin code should flash on the odometer (If you can see the first digit flash you are ready to set your new pin)
Step 7Using your left and right turn signal, set your new pin. Use your left turn signal to change the first digit that is flashing. Once it’s been set, use your right turn signal to move on to the second digit. Repeat the same method to change all five digits of your pin.To save the pin you must switch off the handlebar kill switch and the ignition switch before the module rearms.
To clarify, the pin is meant for overriding the security alarm and allowing you to switch on the ignition to the Harley-Davidson motorcycle. However, you can only use the pin only in the absence of the key fob.

Нельзя сидеть с полностью выпрямленными руками прямо или немного отклонившись назад. Отпустив сцепление резко и, машинально нажав на газ, рывок может быть сильный. В итоге, человек может элементарным образом упасть из мотоцикла.
Двигатель начинает работать более активно. Усиливается рев мотора. Многие пугаются этого момента, считая, что произошла поломка и отпускаю газ полностью. В итоге, мотоцикл останавливается, поскольку происходит торможение двигателем.
Сбрасывая газ, не стоит медлить с выжиманием сцепления. За считанные секунды скорость может снизится настолько, что придется разгоняться заново, чтобы перейти на нужную передачу.
Переключение передач на мотоциклах имеет огромное количество мифов, которые на практике не подтверждаются. Считается, что скорость переключения передач влияет на износ сцепления. Многие думают, что торможение можно совершать при помощи передач, что нужно переключаться только на высоких оборотах и т.д.
Научиться правильно переключать передачи не только можно, но и нужно. How to Sync your Key Fob to your new Harley-Davidson?
A key fob is a simple electronic key device that fits in your palm and can be used to lock/unlock a vehicle, along with other additional functions. However, it’s so much more than a regular key. Its smart features make it easier for bikers to use their Harley-Davidson.

To make things easier, I have laid down a few easy steps. With these basic instructions, you can sync your new key fob to your Harley-Davidson in no time.
- Step 1
Start by ensuring that the rocker switch is in the off position.
- Step 2
Now, you must switch the ignition on and off in the following manner:On – Off – On – Off – On(So, at the end of this step, your ignition must be switched on.)
- Step 3
Next, you must press the left turn signal switch twice and wait for the lights to start blinking in response. Whether they blink once or thrice depends on the bike’s configuration.
- Step 4
Now, click on the right turn signal switch and release after some time. You must wait for signals and indicators to respond by flashing.
- Step 5
Again press the left turn signal switch and release. Wait for the flashes from the signals and indicators.
- Step 6
To program and sync the key fob to the motorbike, press and hold the button on the key fob. You must wait for the motorbike to accept the new key fob. To indicate that the programming is complete, the four-way signal will start flashing simultaneously. Then, you can switch off the ignition key to save the new key fob to your motorcycle’s memory unit.

Впечатлившись популярностью в Европе скутеров, в Harley-Davidson вознамерились создать и для американского рынка подобный мототранспорт. Для его основы взяли агрегаты от S-125, для которых сделали угловатый корпус. Скутер был рассчитан прежде всего на тех, кто не имел водительских прав. На то время для вождения транспорта с агрегатом мощностью до 5 лошадиных сил водительская лицензия не требовалась. Для этого даже дефорсировали установленный на скутер мотор.
Идея не пошла: Topper оказался слишком проблемным. Основной недостаток крылся в вариаторе, в него во время движения попадала грязь, и он быстро выходил из строя.
Современные мотоциклы продвинулись далеко вперёд. Среди них появилось немало моделей на электрической тяге, поэтому у любителей мототранспорта теперь непростой выбор между электрическим мотоциклом и мотоциклом на ДВС.
Harley-Davidson FLHTCU Ultra Classic Electra Gilde 2007 → Покупка – и сразу дальняк
Совершенно внезапно сбылось желание — каждый же должен попробовать Харлей. Случайно — действительно случайно — оказалось, что у знакомого есть на продажу Электричка, практически не катанная. И продавал он её по причине наличия других мотоциклов — на которых катал чаще и больше. А Электричка стояла год и пылилась. Забрал её за предельно скромную сумму и был готов ко всему. А по итогу: — Отчёт по VIN — 3 владельца, до попадания в РФ — нормальный себе пробег примерно в 100 тысяч километров, после попадания — пробег скрутили дважды (на корабле и в салоне, видимо) — превратив его в 60 тысяч. Зачем — до сих пор не могу понять — почему обязательно на корабле классикой стала скрутка нормального пробега. — Ни одной аварии (по отчёту, опять же. Да и визуально подтверждается вполне) — Маслоплиту не снимал перед поездкой — а всё остальное в хорошем состоянии. И ремень, и цепи вполне себе живые, масло в порядке (спойлер — не жрёт), тормоза тормозят. Разве что сменил колодки и резину (Покрышки стояли от 2003 года, но родные данлопы ХД). И вот — спонтанно решено — ехать с другом поближе к Крыму, а затем поближе к Сочи.

Присутствуют особенности, как, и когда выполнить переключение передач на разной КПП («механика» или «автомат»). В любом случае предварительно стоит изучить основные азы, как например расположение ручки сцепления, правила набора и сброса скорости, рычага переключения передач. Именно они используются в последующем для выполнения указанных действий.
Выжимается рычаг сцепления и в один момент нажимается рычаг переключения передач левой ногой. После включения первой передачи, планомерно добавляется газ путем прокручивания ручки, а сцепление медленно отпускается.
При помощи носка левой ноги рычаг приподнимается вверх до характерного щелчка на 2-ю и последующие скорости. Некоторые «асы» производят переключение более простым способом: слегка приподнимают носком рычаг и сбрасывают газ. Но для этого нужен определенный опыт для плавности. В противном случае срок службы сцепления из-за повышенного износа значительно сократится.
Может возникнуть необходимость включения пониженной передачи. После сброса газа примерно на 2 000 – 3 000 оборотов путем торможения, следует выжать сцепление и выполнить переключение скорости вниз. Так можно продолжать до тех пор, пока не будет включена нейтраль. Плавные действия будут только в том случае, когда действующие обороты будут меньше примерно на 500 – 1 000 оборотов пониженной передачи.
Иначе будет ощущаться рывок.
Если брать во внимание коробку «автомат», здесь включения сцепления не требуется, так как оно взаимосвязано с КПП. По этой причине переключение может выполняться на любых оборотах при движении. При сброшенном газе нажимается рычаг переключения передач вниз
Должен состояться только один щелчок для первой передачи. Аналогичным образом включаются повышенные скорости, но только рычаг поднимается вверх при отпущенной рукоятке газа (на один щелчок). Для сброса передач рычаг опускается вниз нажатием. При этом лучше выполнить именно так: поддается газ и сразу же убирается рука с ручки, а после падения оборотов производиться переключение скорости и вновь добавляется газ в нужном количестве
При сброшенном газе нажимается рычаг переключения передач вниз. Должен состояться только один щелчок для первой передачи. Аналогичным образом включаются повышенные скорости, но только рычаг поднимается вверх при отпущенной рукоятке газа (на один щелчок). Для сброса передач рычаг опускается вниз нажатием. При этом лучше выполнить именно так: поддается газ и сразу же убирается рука с ручки, а после падения оборотов производиться переключение скорости и вновь добавляется газ в нужном количестве.
How to Program a New Proximity Fob When You Lose Your Old One?
Being an extremely efficient tool, proximity fobs allow you to switch on and off your motorcycle when it’s close to the bike. In its absence, it secures your bike by alerting you if anybody tries to steal it. If you have lost your old key fob and purchased another one, it needs to be reprogrammed to your Harley-Davidson. There are different ways to do that.
Using a Scan Tool
If you have lost your proximity key fob and need to program your new one, you can use a scanning method.To use this method, you need a Snap-on scan tool with the 17.2 software version. Your goal is to program a 24-digit number. You can use the following steps:
Step 1Connect the Snap-on scan tool to your Harley-Davidson.
Step 2Click on Body Control Module, then click on the following functions:Functional Tests – Special Function – Configurations
Step 3After clicking on Configurations, the scan tool will present different kinds of information regarding your Harley-Davidson. When you see 2 options for key fob pins, select the one that has all zeroes.
Step 4Check the 24-digit pin on your new key fob. Add the pin on the scan tool using a keypad and press OK.
The new key fob pin has been saved and the new key fob is ready for use.
Using the AVDI Method
This is a great method for tech junkies to try out. Abrites Vehicle Diagnostic Interface (AVDI) is a great technology for running diagnostics on all kinds of vehicles. It requires a bit of heavy-duty work but it’s equally effective in the absence of complicated devices.
Step 1To run this device you must first remove the plastic cover on the side to gain access to the diagnostic center.
Step 2Pick up the connector wires and pull off the rubber cap.
Step 3Connect your AVDI to the SAE J1850 adapter using a CB305 cable.
Step 4Connect the CB305 cable to the bike’s connector wires.
Step 5Switch on the ignition button and press the fuel pump to put it in the run position.
Step 6Run the AVDI software to collect information from the bike.
Step 7Open Key Learning Menu.
Step 8Under Diagnostics, you will see several options. Select ‘Harley-Davidson’ and click on ‘Next’.
Step 9You’ll get a dialog box running a diagnostic step – let this complete.
Step 10Eventually, you will get 2 options for Key Fob 1 and 2. Select the option where all the digits are ‘0’ and click on ‘Next’.
Step 11You will see a new dialog box where you will get the option for adding a new Key Fob Serial number. Punch in the number from your new key fob and click on ‘Next’.
Step 12After you see the message ‘The Operation is complete’, it means you have successfully reprogrammed your new key fob to your Harley-Davidson.
Step 13Now, you can switch off the ignition and fuel buttons, detach the wires, and put the plastic cover back in its original position.
Though these methods to reprogram your new key fob key seem to be complex, you can quickly accomplish this without running to the nearest mechanic.

Пока мотор не достиг 60-75% от максимального числа оборотов, переключение скорости не производится. Это чревато несколькими последствиями.
Во-первых, потенциал набора скорости будет снижен по сравнению с ситуацией правильного переключения. Во-вторых, детали двигателя будут изнашиваться быстрее, что повлечет за собой дорогостоящий ремонт.

Все началось летним утром воскресенья, когда я предложил жене продать ее EN500. Все же за два два сезона она переросла этот харизматичный, но очень мелкий мотоцикл. Выставляем объявление и к вечеру следующего дня продаем мот. Пока переоформляли, пока передавали… было не до выборов нового мотоцикла, да и погода совсем не радовала. 
И вот настал момент, когда утром, за чашечкой кофе я открыл мотобарахолку. В силу того, что я малец не мелкий (198см и 115кг), сразу решил потрошить кубышку и выбирать мотоцикл побольше чем моя старушка VT1100 1986г (которая отошла жене, пусть учится ездить на большом мото). Из всего мне нравилась Драга 1300, 1600, 1700 (за их трушный мотор и классическую внешность, но они прям овощные, зато звук шикарен), так же VTX 1300 и 1800 (большие и надежные, хотя звучат визгливо), Виктори Вегас (реально прикольный и редкий) и Вулкан 1600 (ну самый большой). Рояль отмел из-за V4, хотя сам мот мне нравился.
